Read our policy briefs on how to foster Ecosystem-Based Marine Spatial Planning

Bespoke policy briefs, tailored to the governance context of each MarinePlan planning site, clarify the key challenges, opportunities and recommendations to implementing Ecosystem-Based Marine Spatial Planning (EB-MSP) in diverse regional settings.

Through an institutional and policy audit, supported by interviews and an online survey with key marine actors, detailed information has been developed on the barriers and enablers of adaptive marine governance in each MarinePlan planning site. These challenges, as well as proposed recommendations on how they can be overcome, are outlined in a range of bespoke policy briefs. The dissemination of the policy briefs constitutes a key element of the MarinePlan objective of generating policy impact in relation to EB-MSP. To view the policy briefs, click on the links below.
