Marine Institute (MI)

The Marine Institute (MI) is the national agency for marine research and development in Ireland. The MI has a broad marine remit and is engaged in R&D on a diverse range of areas incl. marine transport, oceanography, fisheries, aquaculture, environment, research vessel operations, climate change and seabed mapping. Fisheries Ecosystem Advisory Services (FEAS) research, and advise on the sustainable exploitation of the marine fisheries resources in the waters around Ireland. International fishing fleets operating here land around 1.5 mT of fish annually. MI, working with its international partners, conducts a broad range of scientific projects under the EU Framework programmes up to H2020.
